Mako provides Boats with collars or inflatable tubes in both high quality HYPALON in different grades and thicknesses and different colours and in high quality PVC in different grades and colours.

HYPALON

Hypalon has long been the best and only quality fabric to use in a quality manufactured product due to the following characteristics:

• Immensly strong

• Wear resistant

• Waterproof and air tight

• Immune to hazards of sunlight, ozone fuel, oil, acids and contaminants.

It also carries a 5 year transferable fabric guarantee and seam warranty on all leisure boats.

• It has a longer lifespan than P.V.C. 

• A boat with Hypalon Tubes has a better resale value.

PVC

Traditionally PVC has had problems with UV and ozone damage and factors like
holding and colour stability have been problems. However with a lot of big inflatable companies robotising the manufacturing processes with high frequency welding PVC is the only material they can use. This has brought about an increase in the overall quality of PVC with the qualities of hypalon having been reproduced to a certain degree by the top PVC manufacturers. 

Quality does however differ depending on the PVC that is used. We have done extensive research in this field as the South African market demands a lot from PVC product due to its lower cost. We now use one of the best PVC's available worldwide and provide a 1 year warranty on fabric and seams.

• Lower manufacturing cost i.e. lower product cost

• Easier to repair & glue

• Wider variety of colours

• We can double-skin PVC tubes with a product called Rhino Hide to withstand
  vigorous scuffing and abrasion ..... especially useful in full commercial boats.

• Lighter i.e. race boats (less weight = more speed)
